Alt.Starfleet.Rpg
ASR is a Star Trek role-playing game/interactive fiction writing
club, set up in the Usenet newsgroup alt.starfleet.rpg, where
it publishes its stories. Founded in 1991, ASR has grown to 47
units and well over 250 active players. (And still growing!) Its
roleplaying units, ranging from starbases to starships, battlecruisers
to Marine battalions, even fighter wings, are all different and
unique in their playing styles, and everyone will probably find
a unit that's to his (or her!) liking.
Its membership consists of players of all ages from all over
the world and from all sorts of backgrounds. Some are quite knowledgeable
about Star Trek, but the majority are people who just want to
enjoy an entertaining role-playing game and to write Star Trek
fiction with other players.

Babylon Five RPG
The Babylon 5 Internet-Role Play Game (B5 RPG) was created to
bring people together who enjoy role-playing! The game is based
on the universe in the science-fiction TV series, Babylon 5. Please
note, however, that the action does not take place aboard the
Babylon 5 station. A new race has even been created, the Volkunes.
You can join the Volkunes even if you have no knowledge of the
game or TV series, Babylon 5.
You can join the B5 RPG for free, all you need to do is have
access to an e-mail address, and to create a biography for your
chosen character. A new member will begin the RPG as the equivalent
of a "cadet" or "ensign", and will be assigned to a mission with
5 or more other members. You will be given a basic mission brief,
then you are free to write as much as you wish explaining what
your team did during the alloted time, to completethe mission
or otherwise. The more often you write, the moreexperience points
will be awarded to you at the end of each mission. Experience
points can then be used to train your character indifferent fields
of study.
